We are looking for a proactive and adaptable Service Delivery Engineer to join a fast-paced on-site support environment in Cumbria. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting, enjoys hands-on technical support, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service. You will play a key role in supporting end users across customer sites, managing IT incidents and requests, and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. There will be training within your first 3 months also to get you up to speed!
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and deploy IT equipment (laptops, mobile phones, tablets, desk phones), including basic configuration (training provided)
- Provide deskside support for hardware and software incidents and service requests
- Perform break-fix support on supported IT equipment where applicable
- Replace consumable components to enable quick resolution for end users
- Manage and maintain your own ticket queue in line with SLA/KPI targets
- Ensure accurate and timely ticket updates, working proactively to prevent SLA breaches
- Drive aged tickets through to resolution
- Liaise with workflow coordinators and internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery
- Support ad hoc tasks, project work, and non-ticketed activities as required
- Maintain full compliance with health & safety policies at all times
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong PC literacy and knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Good troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting desktops, laptops, and general IT hardware
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users
- Experience with Microsoft applications
- Full UK driving licence (role involves travel between sites)
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of server environments (smart hands support)
- Familiarity with Active Directory
- Hardware repair experience (e.g. keyboards, memory, hard drives)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals
