Job Specification
Position: 2nd Line Onsite Engineer
Location: Lytham, FY8
Work Pattern: Monday β Friday, 09:00 β 17:00
Remote Work: Option for 1-day WFH per week (subject to performance)
Start Date: ASAP
Clearance Required: SC Clearance & BPSS β not current, but must eligible
On-Call Requirement: Once up to speed, participation in a paid, shared on-call rota to respond to P1 major incidents outside normal service hours.

Role Overview
ECS Group is seeking a skilled and proactive 2nd Line Onsite Engineer to provide efficient and timely support to end users. This role is critical in maintaining business continuity and ensuring high-quality IT service delivery within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver second-level BAU (Business As Usual) support to end users with professionalism and efficiency.
- Act as \βsmart hands\β for other IT teams and Service Management to support business continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems.
- Participate in the on-call rota for major incident response once fully trained.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge base articles for recurring issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Operating Systems
- Microsoft Exchange
- Microsoft Office & Office 365
- Microsoft Teams
- SCCM & Intune
- Basic to intermediate networking knowledge.
- Experience in a team-oriented, collaborative IT environment, ideally within Financial Services.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
