We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Storage Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in Pure Storage, alongside strong SAN, NAS, and backup technology knowledge. This role involves delivering complex storage migrations, refresh programmes, and integration work within a live, business-critical production environment that requires exceptional attention to detail and adherence to strict change management.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in structured, risk-sensitive environments and enjoys being the technical lead for major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and support enterprise storage solutions with a focus on Pure Storage FlashArray.
- Lead end-to-end storage migrations, upgrades, data movement, cutovers, and post-migration validation.
- Configure and manage Fibre Channel SAN environments, including zoning and host presentation.
- Support enterprise backup platforms such as NetBackup, Networker, Avamar, and Rubrik, ensuring alignment with DR and resilience standards.
- Work closely with compute, network, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless solutions.
- Create and maintain high-quality HLD/LLD documentation, implementation plans, and operational handover packs.
- Follow rigorous ITIL-aligned change control and governance processes.
- Identify, assess, and escalate risks to protect live production environments and critical services.
- 10+ years as a Storage Engineer in enterprise data centre environments.
- Strong, proven hands-on expertise with Pure Storage (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, migrations).
- Broad and in-depth experience across SAN, NAS, and backup technologies.
- Demonstrable experience delivering complex storage projects end-to-end.
- Strong knowledge of replication, DR, resilience, and data protection strategies.
- Working knowledge of VMware, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL change, incident, and problem management.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Experience in regulated or financial environments.
- Vendor certifications (Pure Storage, Dell EMC, NetApp, Brocade).
- Experience as a resident engineer or storage SME within large organisations.
