We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a busy on-site IT support team based in Central Blackpool. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys hands-on support work and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As an IT Support Engineer, you will provide both deskside and remote support, ensuring hardware, software, and network-related issues are resolved efficiently while delivering an exceptional end-user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote and deskside support to end users.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Replace desktops, laptops, and monitors on a like-for-like basis to minimise downtime.
- Perform break-fix repairs on desktop and laptop equipment.
- Carry out IMAC activities (Installs, Moves, Adds and Changes).
- Manage and complete assigned support tickets within agreed service levels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Install and configure network printers and end-user devices.
- Escalate complex incidents where appropriate and keep users updated throughout.
- Maintain accurate documentation and administrative records.
- Support IT projects and other tasks as directed by the wider IT team.
- Adhere to company security, compliance, and health & safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an IT Support, IT Engineer or Service Desk role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing desktop and laptop hardware.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with VPN connectivity and remote support tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage workload.
Desirable
- Experience with Active Directory.
- Basic Server OS knowledge.
- Experience with network builds and installations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visio and Project.
- Experience supporting iPads and Windows tablets.
- Relevant desktop or laptop hardware accreditations.
