We're currently looking for an experienced Backup Engineer with strong Commvault deployment experience to join a major infrastructure programme. This is a hands-on deployment-focused role within a mixed Windows and Linux environment. The design phase has already been completed, and you'll be responsible for delivering the installation, configuration and rollout of the backup solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and install Commvault / CommServe environments
- Configure backup infrastructure and associated components
- Onboard servers, applications and workloads into the platform
- Support deployment activities through to go-live
- Work closely with technical and project teams throughout the implementation
- Assist with troubleshooting and post-deployment support where required
Essential Experience
- Proven experience deploying and installing Commvault / CommServe
- Strong understanding of backup and recovery technologies
- Experience working in Windows and Linux environments
- Previous experience onboarding workloads and configuring backup policies
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, ports, firewalls and connectivity requirements
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects in enterprise environments
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within managed services or customer-facing environments
- Exposure to large-scale backup transformations or migrations
- Additional backup technologies such as Veeam, NetBackup or Rubrik
Contract Details
- Rate: £550-£600 per day
- IR35: Outside IR35
- Location: Fully Remote
- Contract Length: Initial 6 months
- Start Date: ASAP
Please note: This role requires genuine hands-on deployment experience with Commvault. Candidates with solely support or administration experience are unlikely to be suitable.
