ECS Resource Group are currently working in partnership with a global managed service provider, assisting them with the search for a SDDC Manager on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment, configuration, and upgrade of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments using SDDC Manager, ensuring consistent configurations across dev, pre-prod, and production environments.
  • Manage and execute NSX-T networking upgrades, distributed firewall, and micro-segmentation policies to maintain regulatory compliance (PCI/FCA) and operational security.
  • Oversee vSAN storage management and ESXi/vCenter operations, including lifecycle management, patching, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, design authorities, and vendors to validate resilient, scalable, and cost-effective SDDC architectures.
  • Develop detailed technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials to support on-call and incident response teams.
  • Provide operational support for incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement proactive mitigation strategies to meet SLA and SLO targets.

Key Skills

  • Deep expertise with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, NSX-T, and vSAN technologies.
  • Proven experience with SDDC lifecycle management, including workload domain deployments, upgrades, and patching.
  • Strong background in network virtualization and security, including distributed firewalls, micro-segmentation, and compliance-driven environments.
  • Hands-on experience with automation, orchestration, and operational monitoring tools (e.g., Aria Suite, Cloud Director).
  • Ability to design and implement highly available, secure, and resilient hybrid or private cloud infrastructures.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills for cross-team collaboration and project delivery.
