ECS Resource Group are currently working in partnership with a global managed service provider whose end client is in the Mobile Telecoms sector. We are assisting them with the search for a Systems Developer (DevOps & Migration Focused) on a contract basis.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance system-level scripts and applications using Shell scripting, Perl, Python, or similar languages.
- Lead and support the migration of legacy scripts and tools to modern, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and network teams within a network-facing environment, while remaining focused on software development and automation.
- Implement and support DevOps practices, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, and system reliability improvements.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and optimisation of existing systems and applications.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in Shell scripting, Perl, Python, or comparable scripting/programming languages.
- Proven background in systems development, application support, or platform engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with application and script migration, refactoring, or modernisation initiatives.
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles, automation, and deployment workflows.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional technical teams, particularly within infrastructure or network-adjacent environments.
