This role operates within my clients’ organisation, supporting cloud capability at an enterprise level through a Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) model. The focus is on enabling consistent standards, secure cloud adoption, and well-governed infrastructure services across a complex multi-cloud estate. The position requires a LIVE SC Clearance with technical consulting experience in an Azure environment; those without SC need not apply.
Key Responsibilities- Support and enhance a large-scale multi-cloud environment, working alongside teams responsible for critical services
- Contribute to the design and delivery of enterprise cloud services that enable and streamline future cloud adoption
- Engage with highly technical product and platform teams to discuss infrastructure, networking, and cloud operations topics
- Apply cloud-native security tooling and best‑of‑breed products to modern cloud deployments
- Work with external partners providing enterprise-level cloud and infrastructure expertise
- Promote strong documentation practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across teams
Active SC Clearance
Core experience- Hands‑on delivery experience using Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services
- Strong understanding of infrastructure services and networking in hybrid on‑premises and cloud environments
- Practical experience with automation, scripting, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep)
- Working knowledge of Git, repository management, and collaboration with DevOps teams
- Use of Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise in delivery environments
- Understanding of policy‑driven governance, including Azure Policy and AWS SCPs
- Awareness of least‑privilege access principles and secure service design
- Experience engaging with service owners or senior stakeholders to agree and implement improvements
- Proven experience working with enterprise‑scale IT platforms and services
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage competing delivery demands effectively
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to present information both verbally and in written or visual formats
- Track record of delivering projects within complex IT environments
- High attention to detail, with a focus on well‑designed, well‑documented solutions
- Recent experience implementing cloud governance controls and guardrails through automation
- Understanding of cloud cost optimisation approaches (FinOps) and the use of platform tooling to drive value
- Container‑based hosting and orchestration technologies, including: Docker
