Overview
We are seeking an experienced SC-cleared FinOps Business Analyst to support a national data optimisation project. This is a financial data consumption and cost efficiency role β not technical data engineering. The focus is on understanding how departments use data, identifying waste, and recommending improved models and contracts.

Key Responsibilities
- Review data service contracts and SLAs for efficiency, effectiveness, and value for money (VFM).
- Engage with departments and service providers to understand usage, behaviours, and pain points.
- Analyse consumption patterns to identify waste and opportunities for optimisation.
- Co-design improved operating models, focusing on fair usage, continuous improvement, and sector-wide efficiency.
- Deliver a clear set of business change options, a recommended data service model, and a roadmap for transition.
Requirements
- Proven experience in FinOps, cloud/SaaS cost optimisation, or financial data services.
- Strong business analysis skills; able to understand non-technical data requirements.
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement across business and service teams.
- Strong commercial awareness; capable of reviewing contracts and SLAs.
