Day Rate: $1050 - $1145

Contract: 12 Months

The Role

I am working with a longstanding client who are one of the world's largest and most well-respected names in providing software and automation to global enterprise level businesses. They set up workflows across mainframe, cloud and hybrid environments and have a fantastic reputation amongst their customers. They are now looking for an experienced Mainframe Systems Programmer in Australia to be a Subject Matter Expert with a large mainframe environment where they will drive modernisation, platform resilience and operational excellence across numerous mainframe platforms and environments.

Skills Required

  • Be an experienced mainframe Systems Programmer (Sysprog).
  • Have hands-on experience installing, configuring, upgrading and supporting the BMC IOA ecosystem, particularly: Control-M, Control-D, IOA architecture and tooling.
  • Understand mainframe security technologies such as RACF/ACF2.
  • Be able to provide practical guidance on BMC product architecture, standardisation, patching, upgrades and operational best practices.
  • Be capable of performing the work directly ('hands on keyboard'), not just acting as an advisor or architect.
  • Standardisation, governance and best practices across complex enterprise environments.

Desirable Experience

  • IBM z/OS enterprise environments.
  • Mainframe automation and modernisation initiatives.
  • Large-scale platform upgrades and performance optimisation.
  • Technical leadership, mentoring and stakeholder management.
  • JCL, REXX and mainframe scripting languages.

The successful candidate MUST be based in Australia and be an Australian Citizen.
