About the Role:
We are looking for a First Line Field Engineer to support a large-scale Windows 11 upgrade project across sites in Exeter, Plymouth, and Dartmouth. The role involves travelling to client locations, providing hands-on support, and ensuring a smooth transition for end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site Windows 11 upgrades on desktops and laptops.
- Provide first-line technical support to end users during and after upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues, escalating where necessary.
- Install and configure applications, ensuring compatibility with Windows 11.
- Maintain accurate records of issues, resolutions, and upgrade progress.
- Adhere to security, compliance, and organisational IT standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven IT support or field engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware/software and basic networking.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Valid NPPV3 security clearance (mandatory).
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel across Exeter, Plymouth, and Dartmouth.
Desirable:
- Experience with OS deployments and upgrade projects.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Endpoint Manager (Intune).
- Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified, etc.).
