We're looking for an experienced 2nd Line Onsite Support Engineer to join a busy educational environment in South London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, customer-focused, and taking ownership of technical issues from start to finish.

Enhanced DBS is Essential. Please note: candidates must hold a valid DBS check as a minimum. An Enhanced DBS is highly preferred due to the nature of the environment. Candidates without an Enhanced DBS may still be considered, but the ability to obtain one quickly is vital. This role is within a school setting, so safeguarding requirements are taken extremely seriously. Applicants must be comfortable working in an environment where DBS clearance is a key requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd Line support for onsite IT incidents and service requests
  • Manage tickets through to resolution or escalate where required
  • Work to agreed SLAs and prioritise incidents effectively
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles
  • Support classroom technology including AV equipment, projectors and interactive displays
  • Ensure teaching spaces are fully operational and 'lesson-ready' each day
  • Support staff laptops, desktops and shared/student devices
  • Assist with device deployment, management and troubleshooting
  • Build strong relationships with staff and leadership teams
  • Act as a visible, approachable and proactive IT presence on site
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability and a strong customer service mindset

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in a 2nd Line Support role
  • Strong troubleshooting and end-user support skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft environments
  • Strong device management experience, particularly Microsoft Intune
  • Experience managing and supporting Windows devices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently within a busy onsite environment

Desirable Skills

  • Jamf administration and Apple device management experience
  • Previous experience supporting schools, colleges or educational settings
  • Understanding of safeguarding, filtering and acceptable usage practices

Working Hours

Shift patterns are: 8:00am - 4:00pm, 8:30am - 4:30pm, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Schedules are published one week in advance, although fixed hours may be available during the school holiday period.
