Job DescriptionNetwork Implementation EngineerPay Rate: 400 - 450 Per Day Inside IR35Location: London Various SitesContract Length: Initial Six weeksI am working with one of the worlds largest solutions company and have an exciting contract opportunity for an experienced Network Implementation Engineer to support a major programme of network deployments and infrastructure change across multiple London sites.As this is a hands on implementation role requiring strong Cisco networking expertise you will be involved throughout the deployment lifecycle, from discovery and planning through to configuration, migration, testing and handover.The successful contractor will need to be comfortable working independently in complex enterprise environments, engaging with technical teams, vendors and customers to deliver network changes successfully.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver greenfield and brownfield network implementations across complex enterprise environmentsConfigure, test and commission Cisco Catalyst 9K, Cisco Meraki, routing, switching and wireless technologiesSupport network discovery, requirements validation, staging, deployment, migration, testing and handoverImplement LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD WAN and internet connectivity solutionsWork across Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus and Aruba Wireless environmentsProduce technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, MOPs, migration plans, rollback plans, test plans and as built documentationLead technical activity during deployments, cutovers and complex implementation issuesConfigure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environmentsImplement IOS, firmware and security upgrades while minimising disruption to live servicesWork closely with Architecture, Engineering, Security and Operations teams throughout project deliverySupport network migrations, infrastructure refreshes and technology rolloutsIdentify technical risks, vulnerabilities and single points of failure and recommend appropriate improvementsProvide technical guidance to customers around network upgrades, optimisation and new technologySupport change management activity including implementation, validation and post change reviewsContribute to network monitoring, automation and service improvement initiativesSkills & ExpertisCisco MerakiCisco Catalyst 9K switchingCisco NexusBGP, OSPF, EIGRP and static routingVLANs, STP, RSTP, MST, VPC and EtherChannelLAN and WAN environmentsMPLS, DIA and VPN technologiesCisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Access PointsAruba WirelessMeraki Wireless and Cloud ManagementSD WAN technologiesPalo Alto FirewallsNetwork monitoring and performance management toolsServiceNow or similar ITSM platformsExperience & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.At least 7 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise network environments, with strong practical expertise in Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst solutions.Strong design and implementation experience with:WLAN technologies, including Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and access points, Aruba WLAN, and Meraki WirelessProven experience in deploying and troubleshooting routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, SD-WAN, and WAN circuits.Cisco LAN/WANCisco Meraki (Switching, Wireless, SD-WAN, Security Appliances)Palo Alto FirewallsSD-WAN TechnologiesStrong understanding of enterprise networking architecture, high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery concepts.Experience managing major incidents, problem management, capacity management, and service improvement initiatives.Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor coordination skills.Certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist, PCNSA/PCNSE, Aruba Certified Professional, or equivalent are desirable.Preferred Candidate ProfileStrong customer-facing and consulting experience.Ability to operate independently in a global network implementation and project delivery environment.Experience supporting large-scale enterprise and hybrid-cloud network infrastructures.Passion for automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
