We are seeking compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Live-In Carers to provide high-quality, person-centred care to our elderly clients across Hampshire. Our client is a well-established, reputable business with a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of older adults, enabling them to live independently and with dignity in their own homes.
As a Live-In Carer, you will reside in the client's home, offering support tailored to each individual's needs. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life while working for a company that values and supports its staff.
Key Responsibilities- Personal Care: Support clients with all aspects of personal care, including washing, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, and mobility assistance as required.
- Medication Management: Administer medication in line with prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records, ensuring clients' safety and wellbeing.
- Meal Preparation and Nutrition: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks based on the clients' dietary needs and preferences, encouraging healthy eating and hydration.
- Companionship: Engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities, offering emotional support and companionship to reduce loneliness and promote mental wellbeing.
- Household Duties: Undertake light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, shopping, and ensuring the home is safe and comfortable.
- Care Planning and Reporting: Follow personalised care plans, monitor and record the clients' progress, and promptly report any changes in health or circumstances to relevant health professionals and the management team.
- Mobility Assistance: Assist with moving and handling, including helping clients in and out of bed, using mobility aids, and supporting with physical exercises as appropriate.
- Advocacy: Support clients in maintaining their independence, respecting their choices and dignity, and acting as an advocate for their needs and wishes.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly and appropriately to any emergencies, following company protocols and ensuring the safety of the client at all times.
Our clients are elderly individuals residing across Hampshire with a variety of care needs, ranging from companionship and domestic support to complex personal and medical care. We value a holistic approach that respects each person's individuality, preferences, and routines.
Who We Are Looking For- Experience: Minimum of 1 year's experience in a live-in care role or similar setting, supporting elderly clients with varying needs.
- Skills and Attributes: Kind, patient, and empathetic nature with a strong desire to help others. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and use initiative. Professional, reliable, and trustworthy. Flexible and adaptable to clients' changing needs and routines. Respectful of confidentiality and sensitive information.
- Knowledge: Understanding of elderly care best practices, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (preferred but not essential). All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
- References: Two professional references required.
- Employment Screening: Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of all necessary employment checks, including enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, right-to-work verification, and employment history.
- Pay: From £805 per week (excluding food).
- Food Allowance: An additional £40 per week food allowance provided.
- Accommodation: Comfortable, private accommodation provided in the client's home for the duration of each placement.
- Immediate Start: Positions are available for immediate start following successful application and completion of mandatory screening.
- Ongoing Support: Access to 24/7 support from the company's management team and care coordinators.
- Training: Opportunities for further training and development, including mandatory annual training and specialist courses.
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and continence care.
- Administering and prompting medication.
- Planning and preparing meals, drinks, and snacks (including consideration for special diets).
- Household cleaning and maintaining a safe environment.
- Supporting with mobility and using equipment safely.
- Providing companionship and engaging in hobbies or outings.
- Monitoring and recording health indicators as required.
- Liaising with family members, healthcare professionals, and managers.
