Overview: Maintenance & Testing Electrician (EICRs) — Location: Northampton, and surrounding areas. This isn’t a “swap a socket and clock off” kind of role. We’re looking for a skilled electrician who thrives on keeping systems safe, reliable, and compliant. What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting thorough Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across a range of properties
- Diagnosing and repairing faults (C1s and C2s) on-site — not just flagging them
- Carrying out remedial works such as emergency lighting replacement, and issuing Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) where needed
- Ensuring all work complies with current regulations (18th Edition)
- Managing your own schedule while staying connected with the wider team
- Travelling within an hour radius to various sites
What we’re looking for:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition qualified — you know your way around the regs
- Inspection & Testing certification: City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395, 2391-52 or EAL equivalent
- Solid experience in social housing or similar environments
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset — you take pride in doing things right
- Strong communication skills — clear, professional, and jargon-free
