Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all required tasks on a project from proposal to final invoice payment are completed either by themselves or by subordinates. The Senior Project Manager is primarily responsible for the completion and overall success of the project and will act as the main point of contact for the client on their projects. The ideal candidate presents a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively mentor junior staff and support overall development of the team.
  • Attend project meetings and provide solutions to technical and administrative issues as necessary.
  • Market our services and maintain the client database.
  • Manage project budgets and prepare change orders.
  • Review change orders and invoices, assist with collection efforts.
  • Schedule, train, and oversee subordinate staff members.
  • Prioritise tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Oversee environmental projects and assist junior staff with resolution of issues and training of field staff.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of proposals and change orders.
  • Prepare environmental reports, perform analysis, and provide recommendations.
  • Perform peer/senior review of deliverables prior to submission for Principal review.
  • Host or attend project discussions with clients and follow up on reports.
  • Collaborate with other managers to make staffing decisions.
  • Manage asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality assessments.
  • Review daily reports produced by field staff and perform routine visits to active project sites.
  • Mentor junior staff as needed and communicate project completion milestones with clients.
  • Direct site activities and maintain continuous communication with subordinate field staff and senior managers on several projects concurrently.
  • Independently prepare reports to be reviewed by a Principal.
  • Lead client meetings and/or calls to present/discuss report findings and conclusions.
  • Communicate with junior staff to direct field work performed by subcontractors and other ECS technicians.
  • Manage and/or perform multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications: Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other Engineering degree applicable to Environmental Consulting, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting. Minimum 5 years of related experience. Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of environmental principles and applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental test methods.
  • Ability to manage and develop new clients and seek out opportunities to develop relationships.
  • Review and provide feedback on field and laboratory testing by others.
  • Excellent ability to manage and develop new clients.
  • Experience delegating/assigning projects and tasks to other staff while also managing other projects independently.
