What You\’ll Do Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking an Environmental Project Manager I to join our team. This role performs multiple tasks on a project as assigned by their supervisor. Depending on the project and abilities, they will take an increasing role and responsibility for the project. Work will be a mix of field and office. The ideal candidate presents a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values. Key Responsibilities Actively mentor junior staff and support overall development of the team Attend project meetings and provide solutions to technical and administrative issues as necessary Interface with clients on a daily basis. Maintain and develop a client database. Manage project budgets, prepare change orders, invoices, and assist with collection efforts Schedule, train, and oversee subordinate staff members Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines, consulting with your supervisor weekly Manage environmental projects, applying technical support, and handling multiple projects simultaneously Prepare proposals and change orders Prepare environmental reports, perform analysis, and provide recommendations for review by senior staff Review deliverables prepared by subordinate staff prior to submission Host or attend project discussions with clients, follow up on reports Direct project setup and implementation with junior staff, ensuring proper training and experience Understand sample collection, preparation, and laboratory submission regulations Know federal, state, and local environmental regulations and guidelines and their implications Review daily reports, perform routine site visits, mentor junior staff, and communicate project milestones Coordinate with field staff and senior managers, discussing changes affecting project outcomes or budgets Prepare reports independently for senior review Manage onsite activities, communicate with field teams, and ensure scope compliance Develop site work plans under senior guidance, including sample locations and safety requirements Assist with remediation system installation, operation, and maintenance Manage underground storage tank assessments, ensuring licensed personnel and safety protocols Support development of Assistant and Staff Project Managers/Consultants Perform other duties as assigned What We\’re Looking For Qualifications Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or relevant field Minimum 2 years of related experience PE or PG license preferred Skills and Abilities Good knowledge of environmental principles and applications Understanding of permitting processes and environmental regulations Ability to manage and develop client relationships Experience managing multiple projects independently Physical ability to lift 40 pounds and walk on uneven terrain Who We Are ECS Group of Companies was founded in 1988 and is a leader in geotechnical, construction materials, environmental, and facilities consulting services.
