What You'll Do
- Perform standard penetrometer testing operations, including borings and geoprobes.
- Operate Geoprobe units for soil and Cone Penetrometer (CPT) data collection.
- Locate borings in the field.
- Record all required drilling data accurately.
- Report project-specific issues directly to the project manager or supervisor.
- Perform maintenance on drill rigs and support trucks; report all repair issues to the Drilling Supervisor.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems, including electrical or hydraulic issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Safely load drill rig and support vehicles with necessary supplies daily.
- Plan daily schedules to meet productivity goals set by the Drilling Supervisor or Office Manager.
- Complete timesheets and field paperwork promptly and accurately.
- Maintain and clean assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain professional behavior and uphold quality standards.
- Train and mentor the Drilling Helper.
- Willingness to work out of town and irregular schedules when required.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Class A CDL driver's license preferred.
