The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

This role will require firsthand management of a small workshop team (currently 5 operatives and 1 administrator), as well as customer relationship management, estimating, process improvement, and IT system implementation. The successful candidate will lead the integration of ECS’s accounting and project management systems into Catalyst Engineering and will be pivotal in driving efficiency, profitability, and long-term growth.

Steel fabrication knowledge is essential, with a practical understanding of fabrication processes and standards. Previous supervisory or management experience in a workshop or engineering environment is required.

  • Estimating experience, including preparation of quotations and commercial offers.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills with a professional and proactive approach.
  • Experience in implementing new IT or accounting systems in small businesses, and ability to train and motivate others to adopt them.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop small teams.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive business improvements.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of costs, margins, and financial controls.
