You will help protect the health, safety, sustainability, energy conservation and accessibility of people in and around buildings across the borough, undertaking all aspects of the Building Control function on behalf of the council.
In this role, you will examine plans, carry out site inspections, maintain accurate records, and ensure full compliance with the Building Regulations. You will manage dangerous structures, deal with demolitions, provide clear technical advice, and take enforcement action where required. You will work closely with residents, contractors, architects and partner agencies, offering a professional, solution-focused service while upholding the Building Safety Regulators Operational Standards Rules and Code of Conduct.

You must also have a full driving licence, access to a roadworthy vehicle for inspections, and be able to work at height and in confined spaces.
This is a flexible role combining office, home and site-based working within a supportive team that processes around 1,500 applications and 5,500 inspections each year. You will contribute to service development, build strong customer relationships and support the continued growth of Waverley's Building Control service.
