The role
You will lead a large, multi-disciplinary workshop team, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. Working closely with production teams, you will translate design ideas into buildable solutions while maintaining smooth day-to-day workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage workshop staff and freelancers, setting clear expectations and maintaining performance
- Plan resources, workflows, and schedules across multiple concurrent projects
- Oversee scenic construction from concept through to completion
- Review technical drawings and ensure buildability and accuracy
- Monitor budgets, materials, and labour to maintain strong commercial performance
- Maintain high build standards with low error rates

You will bring strong experience in scenic construction within live events, theatre, TV or similar environments.
You should have:
- Proven experience managing large, multi-disciplinary workshop teams
- Strong technical knowledge across materials and construction methods
- Confidence interpreting technical drawings and designs
- Experience managing budgets, scheduling, and resources
- Solid understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Excellent decision-making and organisational skills
