Warm Referrals & High Earning Potential

Location: Hammersmith, London

Full time office based

Capricorn is London's largest independent mortgage brokerage and one of the UK's fastest-growing financial consultancies. We operate across high-value mortgage, property finance and protection markets, with established offices in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai.

We are now looking for experienced and ambitious Protection Advisers who want to increase their earnings by joining a business with strong referral flow, a large adviser base and a proven client acquisition model. This is a self-employed opportunity for advisers who are confident in their ability, motivated by performance and looking for a platform that gives them the volume, support and earning potential to grow.

Why this opportunity is different

Many protection advisers are capable of writing more business but are limited by inconsistent lead flow, weak internal referrals, poor systems or capped earning structures. At Capricorn, you will have access to:

  • Warm protection referrals from a large mortgage adviser population
  • Clients already engaged in the mortgage process and actively considering financial protection
  • Strong introducer relationships across estate agency, developer and professional partner channels
  • A proven protection referral model with clear expectations around speed, contact, conversion and follow-up
  • Admin, technology and leadership support designed to help advisers focus on writing business

Earning potential

This is a commission-only role with significant upside for advisers who can convert quality opportunities. Typical policy income can be £1,000+ per policy, depending on case type and client need. Realistic earnings for strong performers:

  • Year 1: £60,000 - £100,000+
  • Year 2: £120,000 - £175,000+
  • Year 3: £175,000 - £250,000+
  • Top performers: £250,000+ potential

This role will suit advisers who understand that income is directly linked to activity, conversion, client care and pipeline ownership.

What you will be doing

You will work closely with Capricorn mortgage advisers to convert qualified mortgage clients into suitable protection recommendations. You will be responsible for:

  • Contacting warm referred clients quickly and professionally
  • Completing protection fact-finds and identifying client needs
  • Providing clear, compliant and client-first protection advice
  • Recommending appropriate life, critical illness, income protection and family protection solutions
  • Managing your pipeline from referral through to application, underwriting and completion
  • Maintaining strong communication with mortgage advisers and internal stakeholders
  • Maximising conversion while delivering good customer outcomes
  • Building long-term relationships and generating repeat/referral opportunities

Who we are looking for

We are particularly interested in speaking to existing protection advisers who feel they could write more business with the right platform behind them. You may currently be:

  • A protection adviser with limited lead flow
  • A mortgage and protection adviser who wants to focus more heavily on protection
  • An adviser frustrated by capped earnings or low referral volume
  • A strong insurance salesperson ready for a bigger opportunity
  • A protection specialist looking for a more commercial, growth-focused environment

You should be:

  • RO5 qualified, or close to completion
  • Experienced in protection advice or insurance sales
  • Confident speaking to clients by phone and video
  • Comfortable working in a target-led, performance-driven environment
  • Commercially hungry and motivated by higher earnings
  • Highly organised with strong pipeline discipline
  • Able to work quickly, follow up consistently and manage multiple cases
  • Committed to compliant, client-first advice
  • Resilient, accountable and self-motivated

The opportunity

This is not a salaried protection role with limited upside. It is a genuine self-employed opportunity for advisers who want to back themselves, increase their income and build a long-term career within a high-performing advisory business. For the right adviser, Capricorn provides the platform, referral flow and support. You bring the activity, conversion, client care and ambition.

Applicants must have the right to work full-time in the UK without current or future sponsorship.
