The role Do you enjoy helping young people build confidence through learning?
Can you turn your knowledge of chess into energising, memorable, creative and enjoyable coaching sessions?
Learn Chess Academy is growing, and we are looking for Chess Coaches to deliver engaging sessions across Kent.
You will do much more than teach students how to play chess.
You encourage independent thinking, creative problem-solving and resilience while making every session enjoyable and rewarding.
This is primarily a location-based role within schools and other coaching venues.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Our online coaching platform provides a variety of useful teaching resources and supports online coaching opportunities, but these do not replace the need to travel.
We welcome applications from people interested in supporting Lead Coaches or developing their experience as Assistant Coaches.
Key Responsibilities and Candidate profile Deliver fun, interactive and well-structured chess lessons.
Create a positive and well-managed learning environment.
Observe and adapt sessions for different ages, abilities and learning styles.
Help students develop their personal confidence and chess skills.
Build positive relationships with students, parents and school staff.
Supporting other coaches to share ideas and improve sessions.
A current First Aid qualification or willingness to complete training.
Chess knowledge equivalent to approximately 1000+ ELO or five years playing experience The Benefits Flexible, part-time hours during school terms.
