Marshalls Charity is seeking a Chief Executive and Clerk to the Trustees with a salary of £90,000 per annum plus benefits. The Charity was formed in 1631 and is funded solely from an endowment, primarily awarding grants for educational purposes and supporting the restoration of parsonages and Anglican churches.
The post holder will be a key part of a small, dedicated team, leading on finance, compliance, regulatory and risk management, and office administration systems. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible and long-lasting contribution to the Charity.
The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrate senior financial experience including accounting, cash management, and liaison with contractors.
- Hold a professional accountancy qualification.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate proven administrative, IT, and organisational skills.
- Have experience of corporate and fiscal governance within the professional, charitable, or wider not-for-profit sectors.
- Be supportive of the Charity's aims and sympathetic to the cause of the Church of England.
- Exhibit a positive can-do attitude.
