As an HGV Driver / Site Plant Operator, your primary responsibility is loading, unloading, and delivering our equipment to designated locations, including our sites or client premises. You will traverse various locations, from local authority roads to national depots or head offices. This role, based at our Solihull depot, involves nationwide travel, including Ireland, often taking overnight stays in your vehicle. Flexibility is essential, as you will be required to work nights and weekends. A fuel card will be provided.
Key Accountabilities:- You will be expected to collect your vehicle at your allocated depot and drive to a designated location.
- You will collect or drop off kit/Equipment using Telehandler/Forks (Training and License will be provided).
- You will be expected to arrive on time and liaise with the site supervisor to ensure road closures are in place before you pull on to sites.
- You will be fully responsible for your vehicle and plant.
- You will carry out daily pre-use checks.
- You will load/Unload your vehicle at the depot using Telehandler/Forks (Training and License will be provided).
- Shifts are predominately Night shifts with an OOH payment for each night shift worked.
- You will be required to work weekends when needed.
- You may occasionally be required to take overnight rests in your truck.
- Essential: Full HGV 1 (C+E) EU license with no more than three penalty points.
- EXPERIENCED/CONFIDENT WAGON AND DRAG DRIVER.
- Experienced lorry loader.
- Valid Driver Qualifications Card.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in loading, securing, and unloading loads.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight in the UK and ROI if required.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a Highways environment.
- Plant Operator/Telehandler w/Forks (This is not essential but an advantage as full training can be provided for this).
- Company Vehicle & Fuel Card (if applicable to your role).
