Are you a qualified teacher who enjoys helping children reach their full potential? Would you like a rewarding teaching role where you can make a genuine difference to children in the local community? We're looking for an enthusiastic After School Teacher to join Westway Trust on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of an extension. Based in North Kensington, you'll deliver engaging after-school teaching that helps children from the Traveller community build confidence and improve their reading, writing and spelling skills.
You will provide high-quality teaching for children across the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (up to age 8). Teaching is mainly delivered on a one-to-one basis, with occasional small group sessions, allowing you to give every child the support they need to succeed. Working 6 hours per week during term time (39 weeks per year), you'll spend 4 hours teaching and 2 hours preparing lessons, carrying out outreach and maintaining contact with schools. This is a fantastic opportunity for an After School Teacher seeking flexible, term-time hours while making a lasting impact on young lives.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver engaging after-school lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Support children's progress in reading, writing and spelling
- Use ICT and a range of learning techniques to encourage achievement
- Work closely with schools and the Traveller Teacher/Mentor to share progress and plan support
- Keep accurate records of teaching sessions and children's development
- Build positive relationships with families to encourage learning at home
- Follow safeguarding policies and all Trust procedures
- Prepare and tidy the learning environment before and after sessions
