Would you like to be part of an award-winning multi-disciplinary team managing a wide range of greenspaces across the borough? Do you have skills and experience that you would like to use to maintain and enhance council-owned parks and open spaces? We are looking for Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our Grounds Maintenance Services team within Environmental Services on a fixed term contract to the end of November 2026.
This role plays an important part in helping us maintain high-quality, safe and accessible greenspaces for residents and visitors across the borough. Working as part of a dedicated operational team, you will carry out a range of programmed grounds maintenance tasks focusing on litter collection, bin emptying, and related tasks. You will also carry out a range of programmed grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, strimming, hedge and shrub maintenance and general upkeep of council-managed land. You will also support improvement works and ensure that sites are maintained to a consistently high standard.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Experience in grounds maintenance or similar outdoor work
- A full UK driving licence
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A practical approach with a commitment to maintaining high standards
