The Role

As an Assistant Housekeeper at Ben Alder, you will work alongside the Head Housekeeper to ensure that our Main Lodge and rental lodges are kept in immaculate condition.
The Main Lodge should always be ready for use, while the rental lodges require thorough cleaning and preparation between guest stays. Occasionally, assisting with meal preparation would be beneficial but is not essential.
Off-peak hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30. Peak times require working whatever hours are necessary to meet the role\’s requirements, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
Daily Duties (Main Lodge):
- Open and prepare rooms each morning (curtains, lights, tidying).
- Keep service areas clean and well-organised, including the kitchen, laundry room, and butler\’s pantry.
- Vacuum carpets as needed and sweep rugs.
- Clean bathrooms thoroughly, ensuring appropriate cleaning products are used on delicate surfaces.
- Clean bedrooms, make beds and change linen as necessary.
- Clean reception rooms Polish furniture, including antiques and soft furnishings.
- Clean interior windows and thresholds in coordination with maintenance staff.
Rental Lodge Duties:
- Prepare bedrooms by stripping and remaking beds with fresh linen.
- Polish surfaces, dust furniture, and check drawers and wardrobes.
- Clean mirrors, replace bottled water, and ensure coat hangers are neat.
- Vacuum floors, including under beds and furniture.
- Clean en-suite bathrooms and kitchens thoroughly, ensuring appropriate cleaning products are used on delicate surfaces.
