Are you passionate about thinking big and joining a team who are looking to accelerate the growth of our organic and natural Brands – Clipper Teas, Kallo and Mrs Crimble’s in the UK, while also doing good? Ecotone is looking to recruit a UK Category Manager to develop category insights and work with the Customer Account Managers to drive the narrative, positioning & opportunities of our Brands and company with Waitrose and DComm.
Based in Camberley, you will report to the Category Controller and be a member of the Commercial Team. Here are just some of the exciting responsibilities you will be accountable for:
- Understand and interpret market data and shopper measures to drive insight led thinking internally & externally.
- Provide customer focused insights and recommendations regarding shopper behaviour, ranging and merchandising.
- Manage all five categories for Waitrose and Dcomm (Tea, Savoury Biscuits, Stocks, Free From cake, Dairy Alternatives).
- Establish relationships with the relevant customer contacts and attend customer meetings.
- Be passionate about incorporating category thinking into all aspects of business.
- Proactively highlight business opportunities/issues from a category perspective to the Sales & Marketing teams.
- Develop account team vision with Sales team and track regularly (including NPD, range, distribution, merchandising).
- Develop strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders (especially marketing, commercial, insights).
- Key user of Circana/Nielsen/Worldpanel/Dunnhumby & Microsoft Packages.
We’re looking for someone who has an Agency, FMCG Category Exec or Retailer background and experience of the Convenience Channel would be advantageous. Additionally you will:
- Be a competent user of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Have experience of Kantar/IRI/Nielsen/DH/i2c (one of the list).
- Be a team player.
- Be analytical with critical thinking and astute commercial judgment.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to build impactful presentations.
- Be flexible, adaptable and 'hands on'.
