Senior Quality Technician

We are looking for a Senior Quality Technician based at our Basildon site working 38 hours per week on the following shift pattern: 06:00 – 14:00 / 12:00 – 20:00.Overview of the positionAs the Senior Quality Technician you will be responsible for daily operations of the QC laboratory, physical testing of various raw materials, semi-finished and finished product samples manufactured on this site or others. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of results recording systems including SAP, e-IMS and spreadsheets as required.You will be accountable for the on-going equipment checks and calibration as deemed necessary for existing or new devices, including those used within the production areas and maintenance of relevant records, and resolve any issues with equipment failures.You will provide guidance to the QC Technician(s) and be responsible for maintaining calibration standards, periodic reporting and be audited by internal or external audits.Responsibilities of our Senior Quality TechnicianAwareness of Company management systems;Involvement and engagement with the Kingspan cultureReporting accidents, incidents and eventsCooperating with management on continual improvement programsHigh level of process understanding underpinned by working in compliance with relevant policies, procedures and risk assessmentsInvolvement in the development and review of risk assessmentsInvolvement with the review and development of SSW'sResponsibility for maintaining and improving the Operational Excellence program.Effective application of Quality requirements:Understanding of product quality characteristics and standards,Effective understanding and application of Final product specifications,Awareness of and basic understanding of relevant test standards,Carrying out quality controls based on set test frequencies and production planning, on raw materials, semi-finished and finished products,Create clear advise on the rejection of materials with quality issuesPeriodically inspect products within the warehouse or production areas as required and record results,Supporting third party requirements such as quality processing samples and providing information during surveillance audits,Perform internal audits related to quality and complianceAssist with being audited during internal or external auditsImplementation of new quality standardsHigh degree of testing skills, knowledge and ability:Fully trained and be able to operate equipment to the required standards,Work in accordance with all information, instruction, training and supervisionWorking conscientiously and to high levels of accuracySelect test samples to the relevant schedules and condition in-line with relevant procedures / standardsAccurate recording of results and any required observationsPerform scheduled cleaning duties and basic maintenance activities including filter changes etc. including house keepingPeriodically test the operation of machine safety featureWhat we are looking for in our Senior Quality TechnicianYou will have:QC laboratory testing experience / high levels of accuracyFlexible and willing to be trained in multiple areas in QCBe a good team player with a “Can do attitude”Confident with a positive personal outlookWhilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:A-level education or equivalentAccredited fork lift truck trainingCOSHH training and awarenessScientific trainingPrevious experience working in a factory/ manufacturing process environmentAnalytical skills to process generated quality dataAble to follow instruction and work production schedulesKnowledge of SAPExperience of working with various IT programs i.e.
