We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Area Leader (for CPL and Converting) to join our Production team based at our Basildon site working 39 hours per week on a permanent basis. As a Production Area Leader, the main purpose of your role will involve being responsible for the day-to-day running of the production equipment. You will be pro-active in co-ordinating with the line leader in maintaining and improving upon production, scrap, KPIs and OEE figures, applying a hands-on approach looking at improving all areas within the production environment.
Responsibilities of our Production Area Leader:
- Fully trained and able to operate machinery and equipment to the required standards.
- Managing/performing the day-to-day operation of the department/line.
- Set up machinery in preparation for production operations.
- Operate machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move products.
- Monitor output and adjust machine settings within scope of role to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production.
- Manage and assist in the performing of scheduled cleaning duties and basic maintenance activities.
- Supporting Line leader in supervising, training, developing and managing the team.
- Ensuring performance is achieved and maintained through the training & development of team members.
What we are looking for in our Production Area Leader:
- Previous experience working in a factory/manufacturing process environment.
- Able to follow instruction and production schedules.
- Flexible and willing to be trained in multiple areas whatever department and area this may be.
- Basic understanding of touch screen technology.
- Experience of working with various IT programs i.e. MS Word, Excel.
- Be a good team player with a “Can do attitude”.
- Management experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to act quickly when problems arise.
Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:
- Accredited lift truck training.
- A professional qualification within the supervisory or management field (ILM Level 3 or equivalent).
- A professional qualification within the health & safety field (IOSH managing safely or equivalent).
- Full Driving license.
