Ecosupport Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team for the 2026 ecological survey season. As part of the role, you will deliver a variety of professional ecological services to a broad range of clients and assist the project and senior-level ecologists in carrying out services. Full training is provided.
Ecosupport are based in Lee-on-The-Solent, Hampshire, with travel throughout the region and surrounding counties. Although this is predominantly a field-based role, assistant Ecologists are expected to work within the office and field.
Responsibilities- Independently carry out ecological services following training
- Assist with project and senior-level ecologists in carrying out ecological services
- Liaise with clients and other professionals
- Assist with the analysis of technical data, such as bat acoustics analysis, habitat mapping, and use of QGIS
- Produce small technical ecological reports and assist with larger reports
- Complete and lead in-field ecology and protected species surveys
- Potentially use your car for site visits, with mileage and business insurance claimed back (should the pool of Ecosupport cars be in use)
- Relevant degree in a related field
- Strong all-around field skills, particularly in flora and fauna identification
- Strong communication, organisational, and team working skills as well as a positive attitude, self-disciplined, and a desire to learn and be challenged
- Experience with protected species surveys, bat acoustic analysis, and/or QGIS welcomed but not required
- A full drivers licence
