As a Landscaper at Ecosulis, you will play a key role in delivering a broad range of ecological and landscaping projects that support our mission to accelerate nature recovery through rewilding. You will be responsible for the physical creation and enhancement of diverse habitats—from wildflower meadows to wetlands—while ensuring the long‑term health and maintenance of these vital sites.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Habitat Creation & Restoration: Assist with establishing and maintaining diverse habitats like wetlands and woodlands, including planting, seeding, and translocation of native species.
- Invasive Species Control: Identify and remove non‑native or invasive species using manual, mechanical, or chemical methods to support ecological balance.
- Land Management: Undertake sustainable practices to support biodiversity and carbon capture, including constructing habitat features like ponds and wildlife corridors.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track plant growth and soil health to monitor habitat development and assist in data collection for environmental reporting.
- Site Preparation & Maintenance: Prepare land for conservation (fencing, mulching, turf removal) and provide ongoing aftercare to ensure vegetation establishment.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain landscaping tools and machinery, including strimmers, brush cutters, and chainsaws.
- Collaboration: Work closely with ecologists and project managers, while professionally communicating Ecosulis’ rewilding mission to clients and the public.

About you: You are a hands‑on, outdoor professional who is passionate about the environment and rewilding. You are physically fit, adaptable to changing weather conditions, and comfortable working across diverse and sometimes challenging terrains. With a strong eye for detail and a commitment to safety, you take pride in seeing a restoration project through from initial ground prep to long‑term habitat establishment.
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Professional Experience: Demonstrated hands‑on experience in landscaping or environmental projects, including land management or site preparation.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with planting schemes and the operation of landscaping tools/machinery in outdoor environments.
- Certifications: Valid CSCS Card and SSTS.
- Machinery Tickets: Relevant tickets for strimming, ride‑on mowers, and brush cutters.
- Logistics: Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle.
Desirable:
- Specialist Projects: Previous involvement in creating wildflower meadows, wetlands, or woodland planting.
- Ecological Knowledge: Understanding of the ecological principles that underpin habitat restoration and rewilding.
- Additional Tickets: Qualifications for Trailer Towing or acting as a Banksman.
Role Details:
- Job type: Fixed term until February 2027, full time
- Start date: ASAP
- Salary: £31,584 (pro‑rata)
- Location: Based in or around the Reading area, and willingness to travel to our Salisbury site until end of October 2026, then working at our Quainton site until February 2027.
- Reports to: Site Manager. A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle will be required for this position.
