Do you want to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to rewilding half the planet by 2050? If so, we invite you to join Ecosulis as our new Graduate (Trainee) Landscaper. This is a unique opportunity to start your career in ecological and sustainable landscaping with a certified B Corp and a pioneer in rewilding science.

About the role

In this role, you will support the delivery of nature recovery and habitat creation projects, gaining hands-on experience in environments like wetlands, meadows, and woodlands. Within your first 12 months, we will work with you to create a tailored Personal Development Plan (PDP) that maps out the training and experience needed to progress into a full Landscaper role. We are committed to your success, offering a structured approach to learning in a supportive team environment.

Roles and responsibilities to include:

  • Habitat Creation and Nature Recovery: Assist with planting, seeding, and establishing native habitats such as wildflower meadows, scrubland, and wetlands.
  • Ecological Structures: Help build and maintain habitat features like ponds, hibernacula, and wildlife corridors.
  • Invasive Species Management: Support the identification and safe removal of invasive plant species to promote biodiversity.
  • Land & Soil Monitoring: Assist with monitoring plant and soil health to ensure successful habitat establishment and support data collection.
  • Equipment Training: Gain qualifications and experience using landscaping tools and machinery, including strimmers and brush cutters.
  • Site Preparation: Help prepare land by removing turf, installing fencing, and applying mulch while maintaining a safe working area.
  • Professional Collaboration: Work closely with ecologists and project managers to support effective project delivery.
  • Health & Sustainability: Adhere to health and safety policies and implement Ecosulis’ commitment to environmentally responsible practices.

Experience & Qualifications

Previous Landscaping or Environmental Project Experience would be desirable, however this is a Graduate/Trainee opportunity. So we warmly welcome applications from individuals who have a genuine passion for ecological restoration and a strong commitment to sustainability.

Essential:

  • Driving: A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for conservation and a desire to learn hands-on land management skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous Experience: Any prior experience in landscaping or environmental projects is welcomed but not required for this trainee role.

  • Job type: Permanent, full time
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Salary: £29,484
  • Location: Quainton, Buckinghamshire (HP22 4DE), with a willingness to travel and stay overnight for UK-wide projects.
  • Reports to: Site Manager.
