Our Purpose ecoPortal health and safety engagement software helps organisations amplify workplace safety. We give leaders the data they need to create awe-inspiring safety cultures that ignite their team’s potential. Engaged teams are the beating heart of industry-leading, odds-defying workplaces, and we’re committed to helping clients achieve that. Our mission is simple: create engaged cultures and healthier environments for all.
Who are we? We’re a real tech success story, built from the ground up. We’re anchored by our commitment to championing people. That commitment begins from the ground up, with our own team. Our team culture is an organic creation built by our people, for our people. Differences are celebrated here, and we firmly believe that our diverse lived experiences work together to make us stronger as a whole.
The Opportunity Every enterprise deal has a moment where the customer stops hearing about what the platform could do and starts seeing what impact it would deliver — for them, their (globalised) organisation, underpinned by their data. We’re looking for the individual who has the passion to create these experiences. As Solutions Engineer, you will revel in being the technical heartbeat of ecoPortal's UK sales operation — the person who takes everything our Account Executives uncover about a customer's challenges and translates it into platform solutions that are tangible, credible, and compelling.
You’ll build branded demo environments that feel like the customer’s own system, lead technical discovery sessions that uncover what others miss, and stand in front of CIOs, Safety Directors, and CFOs with the confidence that what you’re showing them is not only impressive, it’s deliverable, it’s memorable, and it will add genuine value. You’ll work with our Enterprise Account Executives, supporting multiple concurrent enterprise deals at any given time. No two will be the same. One day you might be building a demo environment that mirrors a retailer's nationwide store network; the next you might be leading an IT/InfoSec assessment for a FTSE 250 procurement team. The common thread is passion, precision, personalisation, and the ability to make the complex feel simple.
This role goes beyond individual deals. You’ll own and manage the UK master demo environment as a strategic asset. You’ll build and maintain long-term relationships internally & externally, contributing sourced product feedback that shapes our global roadmap, and support broader ambitions — like leveraging our cornerstone retail partnerships to establish ecoPortal as the definitive enterprise safety platform in the UK.
Reporting to the Country Manager UK, you’ll be part of a small, tightly integrated go-to-market team where your technical capability directly enables commercial success. If you’re the kind of Solutions Engineer who finds energy in understanding a customer’s world deeply enough to show them something they didn’t know was possible — and you want to do that in a company where your contribution is visible, consequential, and genuinely valued — this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Discovery: Lead structured technical discovery sessions across complex enterprise environments — mapping system architectures, integration requirements, data landscapes, and InfoSec constraints to inform solution design and commercial proposals.
- Platform Demonstration: Build and deliver account-specific branded demo environments that reflect each client’s operational reality. Create persona-specific views for diverse stakeholder audiences and adjust demonstrations in real-time based on engagement.
- Solution Design: Translate customer requirements into technically feasible platform solutions using the JTBD methodology. Produce JTBD Mapping Reports and ensure 100% technical feasibility before commercial commitments are made.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in stakeholder meetings alongside Account Executives, providing technical credibility and answering platform-specific questions. Prepare tailored technical content for diverse audiences from Safety Leaders to CTOs.
- Procurement Support: Lead IT/InfoSec assessment responses, support technical due diligence, and represent ecoPortal’s platform capability in procurement evaluation meetings.
- Demo Environment Management: Maintain the UK demo environment as a strategic asset — current, branded, regulatory-aligned, and stocked with reusable assets that enable personalisation at velocity.
- Product Feedback & Strategy: Provide structured feedback to the global Product team on UK customer requirements, regulatory gaps, and competitive intelligence. Advocate for UK-specific roadmap priorities with evidence-based business cases.
- Delivery Handover: Lead the technical component of internal handovers to the Customer delivery team, ensuring comprehensive transfer of discovery findings, solution designs, and configuration approaches.
- Pre-Sales / Solutions Engineering (Essential): Minimum 3 years in a solutions engineering, pre-sales, technical consulting, or solutions architecture role within B2B SaaS, with proven experience delivering tailored demos and leading technical discovery for enterprise customers.
- Solution Design (Essential): Demonstrated ability to translate complex customer requirements into technically feasible platform configurations. You should be comfortable mapping business processes to software capabilities under commercial time pressure.
- Technical Discovery (Essential): Experience conducting structured technical discovery across enterprise environments — system architectures, integrations, data flows, and security requirements. Methodical, not assumption-based.
- Communication & Translation (Essential): Exceptional ability to translate technical complexity into clear, compelling language for non-technical audiences while retaining credibility with CTOs, IT Directors, and InfoSec leads. You need to be equally comfortable in a boardroom and a technical deep-dive.
- Enterprise Sales Collaboration (Essential): Experience working alongside Account Executives across multiple concurrent enterprise deals with 6+ month sales cycles. You understand the rhythm of enterprise sales and know how to contribute without overstepping.
- Cloud & Integration (Essential): Familiarity with cloud-hosted SaaS platforms, APIs, SSO, data migration, and enterprise security standards. You don’t need to write code, but you need to speak credibly about how systems connect.
- Self-Direction (Essential): Ability to manage competing demands across multiple concurrent deals, prioritise effectively, and maintain quality under pressure without constant oversight.
- Mobility (Essential): Full UK Driving Licence, willingness to travel across the UK for meetings, events, and client sites, with occasional European travel. Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- EHS / Safety Technology (Desirable): Experience in the EHS, workplace safety, or RegTech sector. Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks (HSW Act, RIDDOR, ISO 45001) and emerging mandates (UK SRS, EPR, Protect Duty) is a significant advantage.
- Retail Sector / Large Enterprise (Desirable): Experience working with organisations of 5,000+ FTEs or within the UK retail sector.
- Comparable Platforms (Desirable): Experience with ecoPortal or a comparable configurable EHS platform (Cority, Enablon, Intelex, Evotix, SafetyCulture, or similar).
- Salary Band - £65,000-85,000 per annum (+ annual performance bonus)
- 37.5-hour working week & flexible working: We prioritise work-life balance by offering a 37.5-hour workweek and flexible working arrangements.
- Hybrid working: Enjoy the convenience of working from home for a minimum of two days a week, allowing you to maintain a healthy balance between work and home life.
- Phone plan: We pay £20 towards your monthly plan.
- 'Growth mindset': a personal budget for learning and development courses.
- Vacation: 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + 1 day birthday leave.
- Community: paid volunteer days to engage in volunteer work, charitable activities, and community service.
- We have fun: quarterly massages, team lunches, social drinks, a retreat space to relax and unwind, in-house events, activities, and competitions.
