Imperial Business School invites applications for up to two Research Assistant (RA) positions to support academic research in Economics and Finance. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to research and academic excellence. Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline prior to commencing the role. Master’s degrees will be considered favourably.
The successful candidate will work closely with faculty in the Finance Department, contributing directly to research projects related to ongoing initiatives with the Centre for Sectorial Economic Performance. This position is ideally suited to candidates intending to apply to leading Masters or PhD programmes in finance or economics and seeking exposure to a high-impact academic research environment before doing so.

What we are looking for
- Bachelors degree (essential) and desirably a Masters (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g. finance, economics, or related field)
- Experience working with large datasets using statistical software (e.g. Stata, R or Python)
- Strong subject knowledge in a relevant area (economics or finance)
- Strong grasp of research methods and statistical techniques, including working with large datasets
- Ability to apply and develop new concepts effectively
- Strong analytical and creative problem‑solving skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Excellent written communications skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise work
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
