The predicted salary is between 34132 - 34132 Β£ per year.

The starting salary will be from Β£34,132 on Grade E26, depending on qualifications and experience.

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Prof. Maria Rosaria Marsico and Dr. Julian Londono. This UKRI-funded post is available from 15-09-2025 to 31-05-2026. The research will explore the sustainability credentials of a new material made of engineered recycled rubber from aged tyres, creating a pathway to convert waste into a commercialisable sustainable product. The successful applicant will manufacture prototypes, conduct dynamic tests, and assess the sustainability credentials. The post involves collaboration with the Graphene Centre and Dynamic Lab Research.

The successful applicant will be able to present research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information effectively in oral, written, and electronic formats, and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. Applicants should possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent qualification/experience in engineering, materials science, or manufacturing, with sufficient knowledge of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. They should be able to perform experimental tests, analyze results, and write scientific journal papers.
