Salary Research Assistant – £33,951 to £35,608 per annum. Research Associate – £36,636 to £42,254 per annum.
Role: Work with Prof. Paul Bushby and Prof. Tamara Rogers on the STFC‑funded project "Magnetism in Hot Jupiters".
Responsibilities:
- Construct, run and analyse simulations of the outer layers of Hot Jupiters, requiring a strong theoretical background in fluid dynamics and/or magnetohydrodynamics and excellent numerical skills.
- Play a key role in disseminating results, requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Terms: Fixed‑term for three years from the start date or until the project end, whichever is soonest. Start date on or after 1 October 2026. Flexible or blended working arrangements are possible. Generous funds are available for travel, training and other support.
