The role We are offering a response mode NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer (ACL) post for trainees in Rheumatology or Intensive Care Medicine (ICM). What will you be doing? The role involves post-doctoral research training combined with clinical training in either Rheumatology or ICM. The position is available for up to four years (full-time equivalent) or until CCT is achieved, providing an opportunity to consolidate your career, develop skills, and establish yourself as an independent researcher and educator. Research opportunities within the Musculoskeletal Research Unit at the University of Bristol include analysis of the Wellcome-funded AUGMENT project ( https://www.ukbiobank.ac.uk/enable-your-research/approved-research/automated-generation-of-musculoskeletal-phenotypes-from-the-uk-biobank-extended-imaging-study-augment-study ), application of machine learning for predictive modeling of outcomes such as joint replacement, Mendelian Randomisation studies using genetic data, and further development of clinical tools like Vfrac. In ICM, research areas include pain, neuroscience, perioperative care, cardiorespiratory physiology, MR imaging, cell biology, and pharmacology of analgesic/anaesthetic agents. Current studies include the CAMELOT, SenseCheQ, and GAP trials.
