The School of Creative Arts is looking for a motivated team player to support the Animation department and work as part of a customer‑focused team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant and fun School of Creative Arts, working in our renowned Animation team – which was ranked the Best Creative School in the UK in the 2024 Rookies Global Creative School Rankings.
Main duties and responsibilities
- You will provide practical ‘hands‑on’, specialist technical Animation services and support, to meet a wide range of staff and student needs in connection with the learning and teaching, research and other work of the Animation department within the School of Creative Arts.
- You will be in daily contact with staff and students and should have the skills and experience required to deal with a busy workload offering technical demonstration, advice, routine services and support to resolve common problems.
Skill and experience required
- You will have practical experience in at least one of the following software titles; Houdini, Nuke and/or Unreal Engine.
- Knowledge of computer systems optimisation for Animation, Games and VFX specific use is essential for this role.
- You will possess basic knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, be able to work in a team and provide a professional service along with the ability to supervise a team.
- This role requires you to be able and willing to work to a high level of accuracy and safety, whilst being flexible and adaptable to team and workload requirements.
Qualifications required
- The post holder will be educated with a minimum of Degree or equivalent level 6 qualification in a related subject area or have relevant proven experience.
