Applications are invited for a full-time Research Associate to join BRIDGE, a five-year, €2 million European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant led by Dr Davide Luca, investigating urban‑rural political polarisation.
The successful candidate will join an international and interdisciplinary research team comprising the Principal Investigator, Project Manager, Research Fellows and Research Assistant, and will contribute to cutting‑edge research examining the causes and consequences of urban‑rural divides.
The post holder will contribute across the project, with a particular focus on Work Package 3, which explores how social networks and schooling shape individual outlooks.
This work will involve analysing large‑scale social network data, applying Big Data, Machine Learning and Large Language Model techniques, and developing measures of social connectedness using anonymised data from online platforms.
The position is full‑time with flexible working arrangements.
The role is primarily intended for post‑doctoral researchers, although exceptionally strong pre‑doctoral candidates whose doctoral research closely aligns with the BRIDGE project may also be considered.
