We are expanding and seeking a HGV Technician to join our team, to work in our fully equipped workshop based in Halesworth Suffolk. This role supports our mission of delivering high-quality service to our growing customer base.
The Role
As a HGV Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our fleet of modern winter maintenance vehicles. Your primary responsibilities will include routine maintenance, repairs, and breakdown assistance as required. Experience working on Mercedes and DAF trucks is highly beneficial, as is holding an HGV Class 2 license or equivalent. In addition, we provide comprehensive product training to ensure you’re fully equipped to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing and Maintaining winter service vehicles: carry out routine inspections and repairs to minimise downtime and ensure our vehicles remain operational, especially during peak winter periods.
- Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Accurately diagnose using supplied diagnostics equipment, reported issues and conduct the necessary repairs, maintaining high standards in safety and efficiency.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing following manufacturer recommendations to keep the fleet in top condition.
- Documentation: Use a tablet to complete all necessary paperwork accurately, ensuring maintenance records are up-to-date and accessible.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience repairing and maintaining HGV/PSV. Having prior experience as a HGV Technician or in a similar role would be advantageous. You will be a proactive, experienced commercial vehicle engineer who enjoys both independent work and collaboration with a team. You are comfortable with flexible hours, adapting to the seasonal nature of the job, and committed to maintaining high standards in vehicle servicing and customer support.
