We are looking for a Quality / Homologation Manager to take ownership of key vehicle approval, Conformity of Production and quality management activities. This is a varied position combining detailed technical compliance work with practical involvement in manufacturing, problem-solving and process improvement.

This is primarily an office-based position at our manufacturing facility in Ripon, North Yorkshire, with regular involvement on the factory floor. You will work closely with production, design, technical and sales colleagues, as well as communicating directly with the Vehicle Certification Agency.

This is a varied role for someone who is comfortable combining detailed compliance work with practical problem-solving. Alongside maintaining approvals and completing essential production documentation, you will help improve the processes that reduce defects, rework and warranty costs.

Why the role matters

Our vehicles must be correctly approved and built in accordance with the applicable regulatory and internal requirements. This position helps ensure that approvals remain current, production controls are effective and the evidence needed to demonstrate compliance is properly maintained.

The role also has a wider impact on the performance of the business. By identifying defects, strengthening control plans, carrying out audits and coordinating improvement actions, you will help prevent problems rather than simply dealing with them after they occur.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide shop-floor supervisors with advice and assistance on vehicle compliance.
  • Maintain Conformity of Production processes and control plans to ensure vehicles continue to meet approval requirements.
  • Prepare and manage approval applications, extensions, technical documentation and Certificates of Conformity to ensure vehicles are compliant.
  • Oversee the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and maintain through internal auditing, document control and non-conformance management.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the Vehicle Certification Agency, coordinating on-site inspections and testing.
  • Advise during new product development and vehicle performance testing.
  • Support sales by conducting vehicle specification reviews to help ensure vehicles are suitable, compliant and compatible with our equipment.
  • Manage logistics of vehicle completions and dispatches.

Skills, experience and qualities required

  • Experience in quality, engineering compliance, vehicle engineering or a similar field.
  • The ability to understand and apply technical, regulatory and procedural requirements.
  • A methodical approach and close attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational, document-control and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience of vehicle type approval, Conformity of Production or ISO 9001 would be particularly valuable, but it is not essential.

We recognise that vehicle approval is a specialist area. Candidates with relevant experience in quality, engineering or technical compliance will be considered, and training in our vehicle approval and Conformity of Production processes will be provided.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay
  • Free onsite parking
  • Health & Wellbeing Programme
  • Life Insurance
  • Workplace Pension
  • Pay – Competitive, with starting salary reflecting relevant experience and the level of training required for the role.

  • Full time hours – 38 hours per week:– Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm– Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm– One hour lunch break each day

What will make you successful

You will be comfortable working with detailed technical information while also taking a practical approach to solving problems. You will be organised, confident working across different departments and willing to take ownership of compliance issues through to resolution.
