ECOM are delighted to have teamed up with a leading eCommerce company on their search for a Lead Frontend Engineer to lead a team and provide technical ownership in a brilliant web app setup. The client has been established for a number of years and their eCommerce side is growing, with huge ambitions for growth. The team tend to work remotely but do occasionally get together for collaboration, so as long as you’re willing to work in Manchester from time to time, read on!

The technology department is evolving to cross functional product-based teams that use data to inform decisions and as a Lead Engineer, you’d be responsible for managing other engineers, play a key role in technical direction (for the team and wider department) as well as promoting continuous improvement and agile values.

The current team is collaborative and cross functional, they value diversity and teamwork over individual heroics, embrace an agile mindset and use data to inform their decisions so you can expect to work alongside product owners, designers, testers, data engineers and other software engineers that are passionate about using quality practices like TDD, pair programming and DevOps.

  • 4+ years in a people leadership role (ideally managed a Frontend team already)
  • Experience of delivering large scale and accessible frontend solutions
  • Proficient in js, TypeScript, React, CSS and similar
  • Enthusiastic around testing processes (CI/CD, TDD etc)

The benefits are good on this role too with a salary up to 75k plus a very generous annual bonus. The company also operates a very flexible working model being remote first, with occasional trips to the office so it’s a great one for work life balance.
