Job Description
Lead Frontend Engineer opportunity – Up to 110k – Chester – Financial Services
ECOM are delighted to have teamed up with a leading financial services organisation on their search for a Lead Frontend Engineer to manage a team of developers whilst remaining close to the code so are looking for someone who is happy to split their time effectively.
Our client are building cutting edge software that digitalises the customer journey when it comes to online banking for a customer base of over 25 million. The team is ever expanding and as a result are looking for the best in class when it comes to Front End engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
– Be a key figure throughout the SDLC by designing, building and delivering resilient software systems (50% of time will be hands on coding)
– Technical leadership and management of a team of engineers (50% of time will be people management)
– Work with the wider business to deliver solutions at pace
– Champion new technologies across the group
– Participate in Scrum ceremonies
The Ideal Candidate:
– Extensive experience with Front End technologies (React, JavaScript, Typescript, Redux, HTML5 and CSS3)
– Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress and Playwright
– Exposure to CI/CD, Github, Docker, Jenkins and Grafana (a nice to have)
– Experience managing a team of software developers from a people management point of view but also technical leadership/direction
– Has demonstrated picking up new technologies at speed in the past – although it's a Front End role there may still be times where you'd have to pick up some Back End work
