Join the London Accounts team as a Junior Trade Accountant and gain hands‑on experience after qualification within a commodities environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Trade Accountants with daily P&L, cash accounting, reconciliations and journal postings for ECOM’s London cocoa trading desk.
- Collaborate with the ECOM accounting team in India to review and approve daily work, escalating queries to Trade Accountants or the Financial Controller.
- Identify inefficiencies in trade accounting workflows and propose automation or system enhancements to improve processes.
- Help implement standardised procedures and internal controls to strengthen accuracy, transparency and audit readiness.
- Assist with ad hoc queries from trade and shipping teams.
- Support cyclical finance activities such as monthly cash‑flow forecasting, FX exposure management and new system implementation.
Skills & Experience
- A focused self‑starter with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, teamwork, communication, time‑management and prioritisation skills.
- Must have solid accounting knowledge, a desire to learn about the commodity trading industry, excellent Excel skills, and a preference for experience with Navision, Cognos or similar systems.
