We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Living Tees Development Manager to lead the next stage of development of an ambitious, catchment-wide initiative supporting the River Tees, its communities and the landscapes connected to it.
Living Tees is a partnership‑led project bringing together organisations, communities and stakeholders to create a more connected, accessible and celebrated River Tees corridor. Through improved access, inclusive engagement and shared learning, the project aims to inspire people to explore, care for and take action for their river.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, developing ideas into meaningful projects and creating a strong vision for positive environmental and community change.
Working closely with the Your Tees Catchment Partnership, Tees Rivers Trust and a wide range of partners, you’ll help shape the future direction of Living Tees and support the development of a major funding proposition for the project.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead the development of the Living Tees project, helping to turn an ambitious vision into a clear and deliverable programme of work. This will include:
- Developing a clear project narrative, objectives, timelines and indicative costs.
- Building relationships with communities, local authorities, environmental organisations, businesses and other stakeholders across the Tees catchment.
- Mapping opportunities for collaboration, investment and future project delivery.
- Working with partners to identify priorities around access, wellbeing, biodiversity, education and stewardship.
- Exploring funding opportunities and helping to develop future funding applications.
- Supporting consultation and engagement activities to ensure the project reflects the needs and aspirations of those who live, work and visit the River Tees.
- Presenting project ideas, updates and opportunities to a wide range of audiences and partnership groups.
About you
We’re looking for someone with excellent relationship‑building skills, strong project development experience and the ability to bring together different ideas, organisations and priorities into a shared vision.
You’ll have experience of developing or managing large‑scale projects, ideally within the environmental, community or heritage sectors, and be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders.
You’ll be organised, proactive and comfortable working independently, with the ability to understand complex issues and communicate them clearly and engagingly.
Experience of developing funding proposals, working within partnership settings and understanding catchment‑based approaches would be highly desirable.
Salary
Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
