Ecologist/ Senior Ecologist

Overview\\n\\nEcologic Consultant Ecologists LLP is an ecological and arboricultural consultancy based in Exeter, Devon. We work on a range of projects across the southwest from small-scale householder projects such as loft conversions through to landscape recovery projects focused on habitat creation and enhancement. We are seeking to expand our experienced team with an Ecologist and/or Senior Ecologist.

The role is full-time, permanent and will be a mixture of desk-based & fieldwork.\\n\\nThe Role\\n\\nThe role will be varied and will include the following responsibilities:\\n\\n * Undertaking PEAs using the UK Habitat Classification System & Biodiversity Condition Assessments\\n\\n * Undertaking protected species surveys\\n\\n * GIS mapping\\n\\n * Report writing\\n\\n * Ecological Clerk of Works\\n\\n * Managing projects (dependent on experience)\\n\\n * Reviewing reports (dependent on experience)\\n\\nCriteria\\n\\n * At least two years’ experience of working in an ecological consultancy\\n\\n * Protected species licence/s would be advantageous\\n\\n * Knowledge of wildlife policy and legislation\\n\\n * Strong report writing skills\\n\\n * Proficiency in QGIS\\n\\n * Effective communicator\\n\\n * Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge\\n\\n * Organised and able to prioritise workloads\\n\\n * Educated to degree level (minimum BSc)\\n\\n * A full driving licence and access to your own transport\\n\\n * Have or are working towards CIEEM membership\\n\\nBenefits\\n\\nEcologic are dedicated to supporting your ongoing progression and are pleased to offer a competitive salary and the following benefits:\\n\\n * Workplace pension scheme\\n\\n * Use of company electric vehicles\\n\\n * Payment of professional memberships & class licence fees\\n\\n * Flexible working hours\\n\\n * 24 days annual leave with additional days over the Christmas period\\n\\n * Internal training sessions\\n\\n * Generous external training budget\\n\\n * TOIL policy\\n\\n * Team social events
