Ecologi is building a small, trusted network of freelance and permalance designers who collaborate with our in-house studio to communicate climate impact with clarity, credibility and craft. Our work spans brand campaigns, data-led storytelling, impact reporting and digital experiences. As our brand evolves, we’re looking to connect with designers who share our belief that thoughtful design can help accelerate climate action.

We’re currently inviting expressions of interest from:

  • Creative Designers
  • Infographics & Visual Systems Designers
  • Specialist Designers (AI-enabled design, motion, video, brand strategy)

A brand entering its next chapter: Ecologi is currently evolving its brand - refining our typography, colour system and visual language to better express the quality, credibility and impact of our climate work. This next phase focuses on bringing greater consistency, craft and clarity across how Ecologi communicates - from data visualisation and infographics to campaigns and digital experiences.

For designers, this creates a rare opportunity: contributing to the ongoing evolution of a trusted climate brand at scale, and helping shape how complex climate impact is communicated with both scientific rigour and visual distinction. We don’t expect designers to bring experience across all of these three areas - we’re interested in depth, perspective and craft in your chosen strengths, and how you might contribute to the broader evolution of the brand.

1) Creative Designer (Freelance / Permalance Pool)

We’re particularly interested in creative designers who are excited to grow their craft within a purpose-driven studio and, over time, develop into people management roles within a design team. We’re looking for someone with curiosity, ambition and care for others - a designer who enjoys collaboration and is interested in how creative teams work, grow and support each other. Over time, this pathway may include mentoring, coordinating projects and contributing to the culture and direction of Ecologi’s design studio.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have 4–6 years’ experience in an agency or in-house design team. If you are even more experienced, that’s great! We are interested in seeing candidates with varying levels of experience
  • Are motivated by climate, nature or purpose-driven work
  • Show strong growth mindset and curiosity
  • Enjoy working with and supporting other people
  • Are interested in how design teams operate and collaborate
  • Are open to feedback and eager to develop quickly
  • Are curious about and are exploring how AI is shaping creative work
  • Are comfortable contributing across varied design tasks

Must have experience with tools: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Canva. Nice to have experience with tools: After Effects, Premiere Pro.

You’ll likely contribute to:

  • Day-to-day brand and marketing design
  • Social and digital content
  • Campaign assets
  • Presentation and report layouts
  • Evolving brand applications

We’re especially keen to hear from designers interested in growing towards future studio leadership or people management responsibilities within a creative environment.

2) Infographics & Visual Systems Designer (Freelance / Permalance Pool)

Ecologi communicates complex climate impact data across campaigns, reports, digital content and brand storytelling. We’re looking for experienced designers who can elevate how this information is visualised across our brand. This role focuses on crafting a cohesive visual language for data, metrics and explainer graphics - balancing scientific clarity with premium editorial design.

We’re looking for designers who can:

  • Design distinctive, on-brand infographics and data visualisations
  • Create badge, icon and graphic systems aligned to brand
  • Translate climate concepts into clear visuals
  • Build modular graphic systems for reuse at scale
  • Maintain consistency across multiple touch-points
  • Are curious about and are exploring how AI is shaping creative work
  • Elevate existing graphics to match our evolving brand.

Ideal experience:

  • Strong portfolio of infographics or information design
  • Editorial, report or data-led design background
  • Brand-sensitive visual systems thinking
  • High craft and typographic care

3) Specialist Designers (Freelance / Permalance Pool)

We also welcome portfolios from designers with expertise in:

  • AI-enabled design workflows
  • Motion, video and animation
  • Brand strategy and identity

How we work with our design partners

Our freelance / permalance collaborators typically support the studio on specific projects or periods of increased workload. Some partnerships are ongoing; others are project-based. Where there is strong alignment, relationships may grow over time.
