About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Designer to lead creative output, shape our brand, and help evolve our design function.

This role is ideal for a multidisciplinary designer with strong visual craft and a curiosity for AI, automation, creative tooling, and scalable design systems.

Reporting to the Sustainability Marketing Director, you'll work closely with the Brand Marketing team to define and evolve our brand, improve creative workflows, and influence cross-functional conversations.

This is more than a hands-on design role.

It's an opportunity to step into design leadership, bringing confidence with stakeholders, comfort with ambiguity, and a passion for driving meaningful change.

Company Profile

Ecologi is the UK's most trusted climate action platform, helping businesses accelerate global climate action by funding high-quality, high-integrity climate solutions, including reforestation, habitat restoration, and verified carbon avoidance and removal projects worldwide.

Trusted by more than 16,000 businesses, including Co-op, O2, ITV, Oracle, Capgemini, Mulberry, and over 270 B Corps, our community has funded the planting of 89+ million trees, avoided 3.5 million tonnes of verified CO2e, restored over 39,000m² of habitat, and permanently removed 14,000 tonnes of CO2.

We're science-led and impact-driven, aligned with the SBTi and Oxford Principles, and supported by an independent climate committee.

We work with leading quality assessment partners including Sylvera, Be Zero Carbon, Calyx Global and Renoster.

As a certified B Corp, we're ranked in the top 5% for Environment and Governance and are the UK's most trusted climate action brand, with a 4.8 Trustpilot rating.

Our Values

  • Planet First: Science-led and impact-driven, we hold ourselves to the highest standards and work with leading partners to deliver climate solutions that make a real difference.
  • Always Accountable: We build trust through transparency, integrity and evidence-based decision making, taking ownership of our work.
  • Changemakers: We embrace change, set ambitious goals, learn through experimentation, and tackle challenges with optimism and resilience.
  • Act Together: We believe in collective action, empowering people and businesses to create positive impact through collaboration, inclusion and shared purpose.
  • What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead and influence brand direction, ensuring consistency and quality across all outputs (social, digital, web, video, paid performance)
  • Proactively explore, up-skill and integrate AI tools and workflows into the department’s day-to-day work (increasing usage from 0% to 50%)
  • Help design and evolve scalable creative systems and workflows that improve quality, consistency, speed, and experimentation across the team
  • Continuously evolve and strengthen our design system using systems thinking, creating scalable frameworks, reusable patterns, and AI-enhanced workflows that improve consistency, speed, and creative quality across the business
  • Run and facilitate brand alignment pod sessions across teams (including Product), bringing clarity and direction
  • Collaborate closely with marketing stakeholders to shape briefs, explore concepts, and translate strategic ideas into scalable creative execution.
  • Deliver high-quality design work across both BAU and strategic initiatives
  • Take ownership of complex or ambiguous briefs and drive them forward
  • Improve processes and workflows within the design team to ensure an agile AI first delivery approach for rapid scaling and testing
  • Mentor and support other designers (including potential line management of a midweight designer)
  • Increase department’s output for motion and video work (scaling to 50% in the first 6 months)
  • AI & Workflow Innovation
  • Experiment with emerging AI tooling, integrations, and creative workflows (e. g.

Claude, Canva AI, generative video tools, AI-assisted production pipelines) to improve speed, iteration, and creative capability.

  • Explore opportunities for automation, modular creative systems, and AI-assisted creative operations where relevant.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, speed, and quality through leveraging AI to ensure we can scale, iterate and test creative and messaging rapidly
  • Stay up to date with developments in AI and design, and bring ideas back into the team
  • Experiment and iterate on new approaches, helping the team evolve over time
  • Stakeholder & Leadership Expectations
  • Confidently manage relationships across the business, including senior stakeholders
  • Navigate ambiguity and conflicting priorities with calm and clarity
  • Be comfortable challenging briefs, pushing back when needed, and guiding conversations constructively
  • Translate ambiguity and complex stakeholder input into clear creative direction and actionable next steps
  • Lead difficult conversations with professionalism and composure
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across teams
  • You are able to rise above day-to-day noise and competing demands, creating space to think strategically and bring clarity to complex situations
  • What Good Looks Like in This Role
  • You operate with a high degree of independence and ownership

  • You remain calm, solutions-focused, and strategically minded even in fast-paced or high-noise environments
  • You are comfortable leading conversations, not just contributing to them

  • You actively improve how the team works, not just what it produces
  • You combine strong creative craft with leadership presence

  • Deep experience as a multidisciplinary designer, with strong craft across motion, video, graphic design and creative production.

  • Proven ability to work with and influence stakeholders across a business
  • Experience working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Strong sense of ownership, proactiveness, and accountability
  • Clear interest in design leadership and team development
  • Curiosity and drive to improve, personally and at a team level
  • Tools & Skills

  • Systems Thinking
  • Copywriting & excellent proofreading skills
  • Nice to have

We're looking for someone who combines exceptional creative craft with curiosity, systems thinking, and a passion for using emerging technologies to help evolve how creative teams work.

We encourage you to highlight work that demonstrates not only what you created, but how you approached the challenge and the impact it had.
